To the Survivor, Victim, experiencer, Human Being
I don’t know you, so I don’t know what you want to be called. I don’t know your name, your age, your hair colour, your mother’s maiden name, your favourite song or what food you are allergic too.
But I know one thing.
This was not your fault. Whatever “it” means to you, you didn’t cause it.
It does not reflect who you are.
Being hurt doesn’t create a “new you!” You’re still you.
A person worthy of love, and joy with beautiful whole experiences. A person that will grow not to fear life or love, a person who will grow into truly loving and understanding themselves.
Everything feels shit. Hopeless and futile and generally just very bleak. But I promise it isn’t. You’ve not had the light snuffed out, you’ve not even had it dimmed. You’ve just been blindfolded. The light is there! Surrounding you, just waiting for you to bask in it. Whenever you are ready, you can step into it.
With the weight of reality still on you, to be honest. It never truly leaves, but you can learn to understand what it means to carry it. I believe in you. Truly, and with my whole heart, I say that.
You will love, live, eat, laugh, breathe and exist in hundreds of beautiful ways because you deserve light.
I’m sending all my love to you, and lots of faith that you will fight through this.
